Direction of Development

In view of the modern society's demand for cross-disciplinary talents, this degree program plans a “Project-Based Learning” course portfolio in terms of talent cultivation, and develops students' qualities and abilities to solve the current and future social problems through the mode of “Project Development Specialization”.

This degree program is a four-year undivided program that, like the undivided programs of many schools in Taiwan, strives to bridge the barriers between traditional disciplines and to help students construct an interdisciplinary learning experience, but is distinguished from the undivided programs of other schools by the following characteristics:

The core of the program is “humanistic literacy” (understanding and caring for the nature of human social activities).

Second, according to Tung Wah's programmatic design, the program structure is based on MIT's CDIO education model: Conceive, Design, Implement, and Operate, and the three programs of “Migrant Mills Basic Literacy Program,” “Rift Valley Core Program,” and “Interdisciplinary Exploration and Practice Program” have been planned respectively. The Rift Valley Interdisciplinary College Bachelor's Degree Program trusts in the creativity and foresight of its students, and guides and cultivates students with “humanistic qualities” as the core, “thinking about the direction of interdisciplinary learning,” “designing one's own learning path,” “planning strategies and abilities to make proposals,” and “integrating knowledge and putting it into practice in the community,” and, in conjunction with the teaching and research resources of the eight colleges of the university, offers students eight developmental paths after graduation:

Teaching, research and development: To study for a master's or doctoral degree in various fields and engage in research and development. The program is designed for students who want to pursue a career in research and development, or who want to work as a faculty member at various levels.

Cultural Industry: Enter the cultural industry and work in cultural creativity and restoration.

Environmental Resources: Apply for certificates related to sustainable development to meet the needs of various industries.

Business Management: Enter various enterprises to engage in product research and development, strategic marketing, or management.

Artistic Creation: Participate in various artistic and cultural development activities, and engage in artistic editing, advertising, and graphic design.

Social Work: Obtain licenses in various counseling and social work fields and engage in counseling or social care related work.

Science and Technology: Enter the high-tech industry and work as a manager of various technological research and development.

Future industry: New cross-field jobs that are happening through artificial intelligence or internet platforms.
